Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
This policy describes data handling in VoxaTV for macOS, iOS and tvOS and on this website. Data handling depends on the features you use and the services you connect.
Data stored on your device
VoxaTV stores your saved playlist configuration, imported catalogs, programme guides, Favorites, category organization, preferences, navigation state, playback progress and recent watch history to provide its features. Provider credentials and Trakt account tokens are stored in the device Keychain. Artwork and derived search information may be cached locally.
Playlists and content providers
When you import or refresh a source, fetch artwork or programme guides, or play media, your device connects to the provider and relevant content hosts. These services receive network information such as your IP address and the requested resources, together with credentials required by your source. Their privacy policies apply. VoxaTV does not supply your IPTV subscription or control your provider's data practices.
iCloud Sync
In supported builds, iCloud Sync is enabled by default for new installations and can be turned off in Settings. It uses your private Apple iCloud database to sync saved playlists and connection details, imported M3U files, Favorites, category pins, selected library items, supported preferences, watch history, completion status, saved playback positions and per-type history recording choices. Connection details are included in encrypted CloudKit record fields; imported files may themselves contain private URLs or credentials. Sync also records installation identifiers, device names, platforms and sync timestamps.
Catalogs, artwork, programme guides and search text are not part of library sync. Content-filter choices, completed-history display limits and queued Not started items stay on the device. Turning sync off stops further synchronization; it does not by itself erase previously stored cloud data.
Optional Trakt connection
If you connect Trakt and enable sending, VoxaTV sends matched movie and episode identifiers, playback progress and completed watched events to your Trakt account. Matching may send media names and years to Trakt. Account tokens remain on the device. Pending updates are stored locally in a bounded queue of up to 200 records with a 90-day expiry.
You can pause sending or disconnect in Settings. Confirming disconnect deletes this device's Trakt tokens and pending updates. Clearing local watch history or disconnecting does not delete history already sent to Trakt.
Playback on other devices
When you choose Google Cast or AirPlay, playback information is shared with the selected receiver through the relevant platform or network service. Direct Cast playback sends the media URL to the receiver; that URL may include provider authorization information. The receiver may contact your provider directly.
Purchases
Apple processes App Store subscriptions and payment information. VoxaTV uses StoreKit product and transaction information to determine Premium access and restore purchases. VoxaTV does not receive your payment card details.
App usage analytics
VoxaTV uses Google Analytics for Firebase on iOS, macOS and tvOS to understand app usage, including installations, sessions and engagement. Google processes app-instance identifiers, app and device information and usage events. Network requests also expose your IP address to Google. VoxaTV does not add playlist URLs, provider credentials, searches, media titles or watch-history records to analytics events.
When iCloud is available, VoxaTV shares an app-specific iCloud account identifier with Google Analytics to understand usage across your devices. Your Apple Account email address is not shared. This measurement remains active when iCloud Sync is turned off. When iCloud is unavailable, analytics measures each app installation separately.
The integration excludes advertising identifier support and disables vendor identifier collection, ad personalization and ad-network registration. Analytics data is separate from your playlist and watch-history storage; clearing watch history does not clear Google's analytics data. Google's Privacy Policy describes its data handling.
Website analytics
This website uses Google Analytics to measure visits, page views and engagement. Google may use first-party analytics cookies and process browser and device information, referring pages and interactions. Requests to Google also expose your IP address. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled, and advertising consent categories are set to denied. Browser cookie controls and content blockers can limit collection. Google's Privacy Policy explains its processing.
Your choices and retention
Use Settings to manage playlists, iCloud Sync, Trakt and per-type watch-history recording. Playlist removal clears associated local source data; expendable caches may be evicted automatically. History controls let you clear recorded history. With iCloud Sync enabled, explicit history removals and clears also propagate to your other devices with their stated scope. Clear completed removes completed movie and show history while preserving unfinished resume positions and queued Not started items. Provider records, history already sent to Trakt and device backups are managed separately by those services.
Updates and questions
We will update this page when data handling changes. For privacy questions, use the developer contact or App Support details provided with the VoxaTV App Store listing.
